Fundraising for the forthcoming Hockey and Netball Barbados Tour
Last Friday we welcomed parents to Perrins Hall for a lovely evening event to raise funds for the eagerly awaited Girls Hockey and Netball Tour to Barbados.
The guests were treated to a delicious three course meal, an entertaining game of ‘Heads and Tails’ as well as a raffle and auction that provided some excellent prizes which had very kindly been donated by members of the RGS community.
The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt and engaging speech by our Head of Athlete Development and Hockey Coach, Miss Sally Walton, who gave us an insight into touring life as a professional athlete and what the trip to Barbados will provide for our players in terms of enjoyment, sport development and teamwork.
This trip will be the School’s first major sports tour since the pandemic and will provide a great opportunity to unite girls across Year groups, to celebrate their sporting development and prepare for the season ahead. In addition to the competitive sport, the adventure will include activities such as a Jeep Safari, Turtle Conservation Project visit and Catamaran Cruise – all great experiences creating memorable moments for the girls.
Thank you to all the parents and staff for attending the evening and supporting the Tour.
