RGS Dodderhill Nursery
RGS Dodderhill Nursery is a warm, happy and nurturing place where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn.
Set within the grounds of RGS Dodderhill School in Droitwich Spa, our term time nursery for children aged 2 to 4 offers a calm and caring environment where little ones can play, explore, build friendships and grow in confidence at their own pace.
With small group sizes and experienced staff, every child is truly known as an individual. We take the time to understand each child’s personality, interests and needs, helping them to feel secure, settled and ready to take their first steps into nursery life.

A Warm Welcome
A very warm welcome to RGS Dodderhill Nursery and thank you for visiting our website.
We are a small, nurturing nursery where children quickly feel part of a familiar and supportive community. From their very first days, children are gently encouraged to explore, discover new experiences and develop confidence through play, creativity and everyday moments of learning.
There is a real sense of warmth and happiness throughout the nursery. Children enjoy messy play, outdoor adventures, story times, music, dance and hands-on activities, while building strong relationships with the staff who care for them each day.
Our children are happy, secure and excited to come to nursery each morning, while giving parents complete confidence that their child is known, supported and cared for.

Let’s get connected
🍂🍁 Autumn Exploration 🍁🍂
Today, we shared the beautiful story Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert, inspiring us to look more closely at the wonders of autumn.
After enjoying the story, we took time to observe and explore our autumn treasures, noticing their colours, shapes, textures and intricate details. We then continued our creative exploration with mark-making on cling film, experimenting with lines, patterns and movements.
A lovely day of storytelling, curiosity, sensory discovery and creative expression!

💛 Hello Yellow Day at RGS Dodderhill Nursery! 💛
Today, our Nursery and Pre-School children joined the girls from RGS Dodderhill for Hello Yellow Day, wearing something bright and yellow to show their support for YoungMinds — a wonderful charity working to make sure children and young people get the mental health support they need and deserve. 🌟
Our little learners had so much fun joining in with the senior school leaders and loved being part of such a meaningful charity day. It was lovely to see our youngest children learning that even small acts of kindness can help make a big difference. 💛
A huge well done to everyone who took part and helped us spread a little sunshine while raising awareness for children and young people’s mental health. 🌈

Tuesdays in the Wild
This week we went on a spider web hunt! 🕸️ The morning dew made the webs sparkle beautifully, and the children loved spotting them hidden amongst the trees while singing Incy Wincy Spider. 🎶
Our creative focus was natural dyes 🫐🎨 We collected forest berries to make our own natural paint and experimented with berry smash patterns, exploring what happened when we squashed, pressed and rubbed the berries onto fabric.
This lovely sensory experience encouraged creativity, fine motor development and curiosity, while also supporting the EYFS through exploring colour, texture, patterns and the natural world. 🌱💚
A beautiful morning of discovering, creating and learning outdoors! ✨

✨🧚♀️ The children loved finding their very own fairy mini-mes in our magical fairy garden this morning! 🌸🧚♂️
Our fairy garden provides a wonderful opportunity for imaginative play, encouraging the children to use their creativity, develop their language and communication skills, and create their own magical stories and adventures. ✨

Ballet with Miss Sarah! 🩰
What a wonderful morning of ballet with Miss Sarah! The children had so much fun dancing, moving and exploring the magical treasure trove in Miss Sarah’s suitcase, filled with wands, crowns, fairy wings and so much more.
Our ballet sessions are a fantastic way to support children’s development, helping to build gross motor skills, balance, coordination, listening and attention, confidence, creativity and self-expression.
The children loved using their imaginations as they explored music and movement, while developing important EYFS skills through play and dance.
Thank you, Miss Sarah, for another wonderful and magical session!
