The academic success of a school can be read from statistics and results tables and pupils at RGS Worcester perform exceptionally well at A Level, GCSE, IGCSE, and BTEC.
The statistics, however, do not demonstrate the love of learning developed in the pupils or the opportunities to be inspired in academic work both in and outside the classroom. They also do not show how the pupils fulfil their potential with very high Value-Added at the School. As a consequence, the pupils are able to go on to the very best Universities or choose other routes including Higher Level Apprenticeships in international companies.
The Academic Highlights document includes the results but also attempts to demonstrate ways in which our pupils are inspired in their studies. From Science Olympiads, the Maths Challenge and essay-writing competitions to Greenpower racing and Young Fashion Designer UK, our pupils participate in local, national and international competitions and enjoy the academic challenge!
Government Performance Tables for schools were published on 24 January 2019, once again confirming RGS Worcester as the best performing school in Worcester for Value Added at A Level and also further cementing RGS’s position as one of the top performing schools across the entire county.
The Value Added score reflects that an RGS Sixth Form education is able to help students attain grades above what would ordinarily be expected. This is even more impressive given that our students now face more demanding and rigorous A Level examinations than in the past. In continuing to deliver exceptional Value Added at A Level, RGS was once again able to help its students secure places not only at Oxford and Cambridge and leading Russell Group Universities and with companies such as Deloitte, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, BMW, High-Speed Rail and Aston Martin on their Higher Level Apprenticeship schemes.
