Textiles at RGS Worcester

Our Co-curricular Textiles Programme

Our co-curricular programme offers opportunities for students to explore the world of textiles outside the classroom.  Students take part in work experience days at Harrods and a behind-the-scenes tour of Savile Row; they attend Graduate Fashion Week and exhibit work at the National Exhibition Centre, to mention but a few.

rgs worcester is the venue for the midlands regional event.

Young Fashion Designer UK

Students also have the opportunity to take part in the Young Fashion Designer UK (YFDUK) competition. The YFDUK competition was established in 2010 by Karen Wintle, the former Head of Textiles at Kent College, Pembury. There was a need for GCSE and A Level Fashion & Textiles students to have their work recognised and judged by industry professionals in an annual national competition. As the number of entrants grew, the style of the competition has evolved. RGS Worcester is an integral part of this national competition and is the venue for the Midlands Regional Event. Industry professionals who judge the competition have selected four of our students as competition winners in the last six years.
