Sunshine Festival Celebrates RGS Musical Talent
Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, Year Eleven pupil Katie and Lower Sixth student Daisy took to the stage at the Sunshine Festival in Upton-upon-Severn, delivering impressive individual performances in front of festival audiences.
Performing an ambitious six-song set each, both demonstrated excellent vocal ability, confidence and stage presence throughout their appearances.
Katie’s set featured performances of Sienna Spiro’s Die on This Hill and The Cranberries’ Zombie. Reflecting on the experience, Katie shared how exciting it had been to perform in front of such a large crowd and how much the opportunity had helped develop her confidence as a young artist.
Daisy treated the audience to a mix of Pop and Soul music, with a particular highlight being her performance of Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody. The moment became even more memorable when festival-goers continued dancing through a sudden torrential downpour!
“Singing at the Sunshine Festival was such a special experience, something I’ll always remember,” Daisy shared. “I felt really proud of myself, and it gave me such a big confidence boost. I’ve always loved performing, so being able to share something I’m passionate about with so many people was an amazing feeling. I’m so happy and grateful for the opportunity, and it’s definitely made me excited to do more live performances in the future!”
The festival provided a wonderful opportunity for both performers to share their talents with a wider audience and gain valuable experience performing live. Congratulations to Katie and Daisy on their excellent performances. We look forward to seeing them continue to develop their musical talents both at RGS Worcester and beyond.
