Headmaster Explores the Future of Education in Independent Schools Magazine
RGS Worcester Headmaster and Executive Head of The RGS Worcester Family of Schools, Mr John Pitt, has been featured in the October edition of Independent Schools Magazine, sharing insights into the School’s approach to education and the development of the new Mahjoor Innovation Centre.
In an article titled ‘From Common Room to Innovation Centre’, Mr Pitt explains how an underused space at RGS Worcester has been transformed into a modern, collaborative learning environment designed to encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork.
The feature explores the importance of preparing young people for life beyond School, highlighting how the School’s ‘Future You’ programme and Digital Learning and AI Programme help pupils develop confidence, independence and adaptability alongside their academic studies.
Mr Pitt also discusses the importance of balancing technology with traditional teaching methods, ensuring pupils have opportunities to collaborate, exchange ideas and develop the skills they will need for the future.
The article also recognises the generosity of former pupil Fasha Mahjoor, whose support made the development of the Centre possible, reflecting the important contribution of the RGS alumni community in supporting future generations.
We are delighted to see RGS Worcester’s approach to teaching and learning shared with the wider independent education sector and encourage members of our School community to read the full feature.
