Sixth Form Geographers Celebrate Success in National Olympiad Trial
Sixth Form Geography students have achieved excellent results in the UK National Geography Olympiad Trial, competing against schools from across the country in a new national academic competition.
Participation in this inaugural trial was limited to a selected group of pupils, making the achievements particularly notable. Thirteen RGS Worcester pupils were awarded medals, including nine Silver and four Bronze, while all participants received certificates in recognition of their hard work and commitment.
The Geography Olympiad places Geography firmly in the spotlight, challenging pupils to apply their subject knowledge through advanced problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills. The competition provided an opportunity for students to engage with Geography beyond the classroom and to test themselves against demanding national standards.
Following the success of this year’s trial, the Olympiad is expected to launch fully in the coming academic year, and the Department looks forward to supporting future pupils as they take part in this exciting initiative.
