RGS Worcester Swimmers at National Bath and Otter Cup
RGS Worcester swimmers recently represented the School at the National Bath and Otter Cup held at the London Olympic Pool on Friday 6 March 2026.
Despite an early start and a train journey to London, the swimmers arrived ready to compete. The team took part in the freestyle event during the morning session, producing strong performances in a highly competitive field, before returning in the afternoon to compete in the medley event. Their combined efforts saw the team finish 12th out of 79 schools.
Competing at the Olympic venue proved to be a memorable experience for the pupils, who swam with determination throughout the day and supported one another both in and out of the pool.
A special thank you also goes to the parents who travelled to London to support the team. Their encouragement from the stands helped make the day even more enjoyable for everyone involved.
The opportunity to compete at such a high level would not have been possible without the dedication of Head Coach Mr Mark Hill, whose continued commitment plays an important role in developing the School’s swimmers.
With such a positive experience this year, the team is already looking forward to building on this performance and returning for next year’s event in March 2027.
Well done to Ellie Graham (Lower Sixth), Isabelle Thorn, Prudence Goodison and Anna Wardle-Griffle (Year Eleven), Xanthe Carrington-Abraham (Year Ten) and Wren Goodison (Year Nine).
Miss O Morris, Teacher of Academic PE and Games, Head of Swimming
