Year Eleven Pupils Publish Wildlife Poetry Anthology ‘Endangered’
Year Eleven pupils Emily Pipe and Erin Docherty have published their own wildlife poetry anthology, Endangered, a creative project developed over three years that combines poetry, art and environmental awareness.
The anthology features 37 original poems inspired by endangered animals from around the world. Each poem is paired with factual information about the species and accompanied by digital artwork created by the pupils themselves.
Emily and Erin began working on the book several years ago, bringing together their shared interests in poetry, drawing and wildlife conservation. Their aim was to raise awareness of endangered animals while using creativity to explore the challenges many species face. Among the poems included in the collection, their piece about the lion has become a particular favourite.
Emily and Erin also sent a copy of the book to Sir David Attenborough.
The anthology has been ordered for the RGS Worcester Library and will also be included in the Years Seven and Eight Reading Passport, giving younger pupils the opportunity to discover the book and learn more about endangered animals through poetry and art.
Congratulations to Emily and Erin on the publication of their anthology.
