RGS Worcester Rowers Impress at Indoor Rowing Event
RGS Worcester rowers enjoyed an excellent day of competition at the Indoor Rowing Event held last Saturday. A total of 78 pupils from across Year Seven to Upper Sixth competed in an impressive 88 events, representing the School with determination, resilience and enthusiasm throughout a demanding day of racing.
The squad produced an excellent set of results across both individual and relay events. The Year Ten Girls enjoyed a particularly strong showing, securing four race victories, with Gold medal performances in the Senior Relays, the Year Ten Girls’ 5-minute event, the Year Ten Girls’ 500m, the Year Ten Mixed Relay and the Year Ten Girls’ Relay. Further success followed across the programme, with a total of 17 podium finishes achieved by 39 pupils in events spanning Years Seven through to Sixth Form, highlighting both strength in depth and consistency in Rowing across the RGS age groups. RGS green was seen right across the event and flooded the King’s School boathouse.
These performances mark a very positive start to the indoor racing season and reflect the commitment and teamwork shown by pupils across the RGS Boat Club. Congratulations to all those who competed – well done for an excellent set of results, and thank you to the staff and supporters who contributed to a thoroughly successful day.
