Regional Success Leads to England Counties Selection
Upper Sixth student Will Sutherland has been selected to represent England Counties Under 18s following an outstanding performance for the Midlands representative side. Will was chosen to compete at the England Counties Under 18 Finals Day at Kingsholm Stadium, home of Gloucester Rugby, against Yorkshire Academy last Sunday.
Will earned selection after impressing in the Midlands’ fixture against the South West. Entering the match with the score level at 7-7, he made an immediate impact through composed decision making, effective distribution and a strong running game, alongside excellent place kicking. His contribution helped guide the Midlands to a convincing 44-7 victory.
The selection reflects Will’s continued progress both at RGS Worcester and within representative Rugby. His development has been supported through his training and commitment at School, alongside his wider Rugby commitments, demonstrating the dedication and hard work required to perform at this level.
Director of Sport, Mr Keith Fowles, commented: “This is fantastic recognition for Will and a testament to the effort and commitment he continues to show in his Rugby. We are extremely proud to see him earning opportunities at this level and representing both his region and county.”
