England Debut and National Recognition for Max Pearce
RGS Worcester pupil Max Pearce has returned from Cyprus following an outstanding international training camp with England Under 15s, where he made his England debut and helped secure victory against the host nation.
Max was introduced at half-time during England’s fixture against Cyprus with the match poised at 0-0. Displaying calmness and assurance in goal, he maintained a clean sheet as England went on to record a 3-0 win. After the match, a penalty shootout provided a further opportunity to impress, with Max producing two excellent saves to help England secure a 3-2 shootout victory.
In recognition of his performance, Max was presented with his official England cap in a post-match presentation, marking a proud milestone in his development as a goalkeeper. His achievement also attracted local media attention, with his England debut featured on the back page of the Worcester News, highlighting both his performance and his footballing journey.
The England Under 15 squad completed the week with another exciting result, defeating the USA 4-3 in their final fixture of the camp.
Max described the experience as an incredible week and was delighted to have played his part in the squad’s success. His selection and debut reflect his continued progress at both academy and international level and the School congratulates Max on this superb achievement.
