National Hockey Success for Stourport Squad
The Stourport Hockey Under 12 squad enjoyed an excellent Indoor Hockey season over the Christmas period, achieving success at both festival and national championship level.
The team were crowned winners of the Repton Festival before progressing to the UK Indoor Championships in Nottingham, a highly competitive national event. Competing against leading clubs from across the country, the squad delivered a series of impressive performances throughout the tournament.
The Championships proved particularly exciting, with the team producing a confident display in the third-place play-off, defeating Surbiton 4–1 to secure Bronze medals. The final standings saw Knole Park take first place, followed by East Grinstead, with Stourport claiming an excellent third-place finish. The squad comprises eight players, seven of whom are pupils at RGS Worcester.
Head of Hockey, Sally Walton OLY, commented: “We are delighted to see the girls embracing the indoor form of the game. The opportunity to represent a Worcestershire club on the national stage can only enhance their experience and enjoyment of Hockey. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
This represents a superb national achievement and the School is extremely proud of all the girls.
