Guidance, Inspiration and Opportunity at Careers EXPO 2026
The 12th annual RGS Worcester Careers & Higher Education EXPO took place yesterday, bringing together universities, employers, apprenticeship providers and industry professionals from across the country to support pupils as they explored future education and career pathways.
Open to pupils from Years Seven through to the Upper Sixth, together with parents and visitors from local schools, the EXPO provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with experts across a wide range of sectors, all under one roof. This year’s event welcomed over 80 exhibitors and delegates including 10 alumni who returned to share their professional insight and experiences. There were more than 600 attendees.
Held across Main Hall, Cobham Hall and the Dance Studio, the EXPO featured more than 35 universities alongside representatives from over 50 career sectors, reflecting the breadth of opportunities available beyond school. Pupils were able to speak with leading institutions including University College London, the University of Birmingham, Cardiff University and Loughborough University, as well as employers and organisations spanning engineering, law, healthcare, finance, environmental careers, the Armed Forces and the creative industries.
Industry representatives such as Charles Russell Speechlys LLP, Moog Aircraft Group, the Royal Air Force, NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Healthcare Trust and Savills offered pupils first-hand insight into professional pathways, while apprenticeship providers and specialist training organisations highlighted alternative routes into employment and higher education.
Careers talks running throughout the EXPO further supported pupils in considering topics such as applying to competitive universities, gap years and careers linked to Psychology.
The event forms a key part of RGS Worcester’s comprehensive Careers provision, which includes personalised guidance interviews, employability programmes, work experience support and regular Careers seminars designed to help pupils make informed decisions about their futures.
Head of Careers, Mrs Audrey Williams, who organised the EXPO, said: “The Careers & Higher Education EXPO was a wonderful opportunity for pupils and families to explore future possibilities, ask questions and gain confidence in the many pathways open to them. We are extremely grateful to all of our exhibitors and alumni who generously gave their time to support our pupils.”
Throughout the EXPO, pupils engaged in conversations, gathered advice and discovered new areas of interest, reinforcing the EXPO’s role as one of the largest and most comprehensive careers events of its kind in the region.
The School extends its sincere thanks to all exhibitors, alumni, staff and visitors whose support helped make the event such a success. We now look ahead to further Careers seminars throughout the year and ask our wonderful delegates if they can book in for next year’s EXPO!
