Careers Programme Builds Confidence for Future Pathways
Lower Sixth students have been taking part in Mock Interviews as part of the School’s Careers Programme, helping them to prepare for future applications to University, Apprenticeships and the workplace.
Taking place across several sessions in Eld Hall, the interviews give students the opportunity to experience a formal interview setting with visiting interviewers from a range of professional backgrounds. In preparation, students have created their own CVs, encouraging them to reflect on their skills, achievements, interests and experiences before presenting these in a professional context.
The sessions are designed to mirror the structure of a real interview, with students meeting their interviewer individually and responding to questions about their CV, ambitions and wider interests. Each student also receives feedback, helping them to identify strengths and areas for development as they continue to build confidence in presenting themselves.
This is a valuable opportunity for Lower Sixth students to develop important communication skills, practise responding under pressure and gain a clearer understanding of what employers, universities and apprenticeship providers may look for during the interview process.
The Mock Interviews form part of the extensive Careers support available at RGS Worcester, helping students to make informed decisions about their next steps and equipping them with practical skills for an increasingly competitive world beyond School.
We are very grateful to all of the visiting interviewers who gave up their time to support the students, share their expertise and make this such a valuable experience.
