The Fellowship of the Arts Set to Celebrate RGS Creativity
On Monday 15 June, RGS Worcester will host this year’s Creative Arts Evening, ‘The Fellowship of the Arts’, an immersive celebration of pupil creativity, performance and imagination across the Creative Arts.
Inspired by the worlds of ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’, the evening will invite guests to journey through a Tolkien-themed experience, beginning at Hobbiton before following the path into Middle-earth. Across the School site, pupils will share their talents through Drama, Music, Dance, English, Art, Design Technology, Textiles and Fashion, creating an evening that brings together performance, storytelling, exhibition and design.
At the heart of the evening will be the idea of fellowship, reflecting the way different creative disciplines come together with shared purpose. Guests will be able to explore a series of Creative Rings, each celebrating a different area of the Arts. The Performance Ring will feature live performance, including Drama, Dance, Musical Theatre and bands, while the Story Ring will offer poetry, prose and storytelling inspired by Tolkien and the natural world. The Maker’s Ring will showcase pupil work across Art, Design Technology, Textiles and Fashion, and the Sound Ring will see Music woven throughout the evening, from ambient strings on arrival to orchestral performances and bands.
The event will begin from 4.30pm, with guests arriving in Hobbiton, where refreshments and ambient music will welcome visitors before they travel through Middle-earth to explore the Creative Rings. A Fashion Showcase will provide one of the evening’s featured moments, before the final performances bring the event to a close in the Performance Ring.
The Creative Arts Evening is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the talent, imagination and dedication of pupils from across the School. This year’s theme promises to make the evening particularly memorable, combining the world of Tolkien with the creativity and ambition of the RGS community.
Families are warmly encouraged to come along, explore the Creative Rings and support the many pupils and staff who have contributed to what promises to be a memorable celebration of the Creative Arts at RGS Worcester.
