Alumni Spotlight: Moving Beyond Limits
We are delighted to celebrate former pupil Harry Bates (OE 2005–12), whose journey since leaving RGS Worcester reflects the purpose, resilience and community spirit that continue to define our alumni network. Through his work, Harry is making a meaningful impact on wellbeing and fitness across the city.
After beginning his career in education and teaching in London, Harry made a courageous decision in 2021 to pursue a new direction aligned more closely with his passion for health, movement and wellbeing. Returning to the region, he retrained as a personal trainer before establishing his own business in Worcester, The Movement Company, now based in WR3.
Today, Harry supports individuals and groups across the city to build confidence, strength and sustainable habits for life. His work spans one-to-one coaching, small group training, circuit classes at Northwick Primary and lunchtime sessions at Kyndfolk, all underpinned by a strong commitment to accessibility, encouragement and long-term impact. He is also the founder of The Koffee Run, a free weekly 5km community run that brings people together every Sunday morning.
Alongside running a growing business, Harry balances family life with two young daughters and his own endurance challenges, including marathon running. At the heart of his work is a clear sense of purpose. As Harry explains: “It is my mission to help as many people as possible live a life where they move beyond their limits, continue to push themselves and do more than they ever thought they could.” Through his work, he continues to empower others, demonstrating that success is measured not only by achievement, but by the positive difference made in the lives of others.
We look forward to following Harry’s journey and celebrating his continued success. Find out more about Harry’s work at: www.themovementcompany.co.uk
