Adventure and Teamwork on Isle of Man Expedition
Over the Easter holiday CCF Cadets travelled to the Isle of Man for their annual adventurous activities expedition, taking part in a packed programme designed to develop teamwork, resilience and leadership.
The journey itself has become a well-established part of the experience, with Cadets travelling by coach and overnight ferry before arriving at the activity centre ready to begin the weekend’s programme.
The first challenge took place on Friday morning, when Cadets were divided into teams and tasked with constructing their own watercraft before taking to the lake. Teams paddled out to a small island, exchanged crew members and returned to shore, testing both their teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Over the following 36 hours, Cadets took part in a wide range of activities, including coasteering, gorge walking, high ropes, an assault course, abseiling, archery, axe throwing and air rifle shooting. Each activity presented a different challenge and Cadets approached each one with enthusiasm and determination.
The weekend concluded with a team challenge designed to test communication, leadership and collaboration. After a closely contested competition, the Royal Navy Section, supported by a number of Army Cadets, were named overall winners.
The Isle of Man expedition remains a highlight of the CCF calendar, with Cadets returning having developed greater confidence, resilience and a strong sense of teamwork.
