OE Reunion Weekend 2026 Brings Alumni Back Together

More than 200 Old Elizabethans returned to RGS for this year’s OE Reunion Weekend, enjoying a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends, revisit familiar surroundings and celebrate their lasting connection to the School.

The weekend began with the largest-ever OE Golf Day, attracting 55 players. The winning team, claiming the Biggs Rodway Quaich, was made up of Matthew Jones, Ben Jones, Richard Wilkinson and Simon Gerard-Jones. Other prize winners included Simon Phillips (OE Cup), Gail Halford (Britannia Plate), Simeon Chapman (Ian Smith Memorial Trophy), Tim Curtis (Closest to the Pin) and Mike Freely and Maggie Thompson (Longest Drive).

On Friday evening, 28 members of the Class of 2021 gathered in Joe’s Café for their five-year reunion. Saturday saw 35 members of the Class of 2016 return for a tour of the School, including two married OE couples and another engaged couple. Many enjoyed sharing memories and seeing how RGS continues to flourish.

The celebrations culminated in the annual OE Dinner, where more than 80 diners gathered in Perrins Hall. This year’s Reunion Weekend celebrated alumni marking milestone years since leaving RGS, with especially strong representation from the Classes of 2016, 1996 and 1986. Zane Kanderian, Class of 1996, provided an entertaining recollection of his time at RGS, while Ian and Maggie Carmichael were recognised for their generous support of the Perrins Hall frontage renovation project. Returning OEs were also invited to visit the Mahjoor Innovation Centre and learn more about the School’s continued development.

The positive feedback received throughout the weekend reflected the strength of the RGS community and showed how the friendships, memories and sense of belonging formed at School continue long after pupils leave.
