RGS Worcester Celebrates Apple Distinguished School Status
The RGS Worcester Family of Schools has been confirmed as an Apple Distinguished School for a further three years, continuing a distinction the Schools have held continuously since 2017.
The news follows a landmark year in which RGS Worcester was named Tes Independent Senior School of the Year 2026. Together, the two honours reflect the School’s commitment to an exceptional education in which technology supports pupils’ learning and development across academic, sporting, Co-curricular and pastoral life.
Apple has recognised The RGS Worcester Family of Schools for its continued innovation in using technology to enhance teaching and learning. The new designation runs from September 2026 to December 2029 and follows a rigorous assessment process which reflected the work of pupils and staff across the Schools to use digital tools creatively and with purpose. To achieve Apple Distinguished School status, schools have to demonstrate they are “centres of leadership and educational excellence” and Apple believes they are “amongst the most innovative schools in the world”.
This summer, RGS Worcester was proud to become the first school in the world to host the Apple Distinguished Schools Global Summit, welcoming more than 200 delegates and 50 Apple staff from some of the leading schools across the globe. At the Summit, Apple Education celebrated 30 years of the worldwide Apple Distinguished Schools programme. Pupils from across the Family of Schools shared their experiences as Digital Leaders with visiting educators, demonstrating how young people help shape digital learning at RGS.
This recognition also follows another world first. In 2025, the RGS Worcester Family of Schools became the first school in the world to receive the Good Future Foundation’s Gold AI Quality Mark as it expanded its Digital Learning Programme and AI scheme. These developments reflect a sustained commitment to helping pupils understand and use emerging technology thoughtfully.
