Pupils Celebrate Outstanding LAMDA Results
RGS Worcester pupils are celebrating an exceptional set of results in their London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Acting examinations, achieving an impressive 21 Distinctions across a wide range of grades.
LAMDA qualifications are internationally recognised performance and communication examinations, designed to develop acting ability, confidence, public speaking skills and creativity. Pupils are assessed through practical performance work, requiring both technical skill and strong interpretative ability under examination conditions.
This year’s results were particularly notable for the number of pupils entered for higher-level qualifications, including Bronze and Silver Medal Acting examinations. These advanced qualifications carry UCAS tariff points and are equivalent in standard to GCSE and former AS Level study, making the pupils’ achievements especially impressive.
LAMDA Teacher at RGS Worcester and Artistic Director of Starbuck Theatre Company and Starbuck Theatre Youth, Mrs Sarah Pavlovs, said: “These are another brilliant set of results and I am incredibly proud of all the pupils involved. What is particularly impressive this year is the number of pupils achieving success in the higher-level Bronze and Silver Medal qualifications, which require real maturity, commitment and performance skill.”
Pupils achieving Distinctions included Annice and Jemima in Grade 5 Combined Acting; Vienna, Mabel, Gabriella, Niamh, Sophie and Amelia in Grade 4 Acting examinations; Delilah and Esme in Grade 6 Bronze Medal Duo Acting; Harry, Dylan, Caroline and Eva in Grade 5 Solo Acting; Thomas and Rose in Grade 7 Silver Medal Duo Acting; Violet in Grade 5 Combined Acting; Nina and Phoebe in Grade 3 Combined Acting; alongside Immy and Oliver in Grade 6 Bronze Medal Solo Acting.
These excellent results reflect the pupils’ commitment, creativity and willingness to challenge themselves through performance. Alongside developing acting technique, LAMDA examinations help pupils build confidence, communication skills and stage presence, all of which were clearly demonstrated throughout this year’s success.
Congratulations to all pupils involved on this outstanding achievement.
