RGS Worcester Awarded School Games Gold Mark for Second Year Running
RGS Worcester is proud to have been awarded the School Games Gold Mark Award for the second year running, recognising the School’s continued commitment to Physical Education, School Sport and physical activity.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, which rewards schools for their commitment to developing competition within school and across the wider community. Applications are assessed against set criteria, with schools able to receive Bronze, Silver or Gold recognition.
This latest recognition reflects the sustained breadth of sporting opportunity available to pupils at RGS Worcester, including participation in local inter-school competitions, the development of pupil leadership and the encouragement of young volunteers, leaders and officials who help make sporting events possible.
School Games Organiser, Alex Repton, said: “It is clear that PE, School Sport and physical activity are highly valued at RGS Worcester. This has been highlighted by your engagement and attendance at events, the range of opportunities on offer for students and through the development of student leadership.”
As part of the application, the School was required to demonstrate its work across key areas including participation, competition, workforce and clubs. The criteria also consider how schools maintain and increase engagement in the School Games, provide positive competitive experiences, support transition points, promote youth leadership and ensure equal opportunities for all young people.
This continued recognition is a testament to the commitment of pupils, students and staff across the School, as well as the wide-ranging opportunities available through Sport and Co-curricular activities at RGS Worcester.
Congratulations to all involved in achieving this excellent award for the second year running. The School looks forward to continuing to build on this success and applying again in 2027.
