Year Six Soars with Kite-Making Workshop
On Thursday this week, the RGS Worcester Textiles Department welcomed Year Six pupils from RGS The Grange for an exciting kite-making workshop.
The morning was all about hands-on creativity, as pupils got to grips with a sewing machine for the first time. With their new skills and plenty of enthusiasm, the Year Six pupils returned to RGS The Grange, eager to see their kites take flight.
Over the term, the pupils have been busy designing, painting, and cutting fabric for their kites. The sewing machine lesson in the Senior School added an extra layer of excitement. Guided by Head of Textiles, Mrs Bishop, the pupils effortlessly brought their kite designs to life, adding spars and kite lines to make them ready for the skies back at RGS The Grange.
As the crafting morning wrapped up, pupils headed back to RGS The Grange, proudly showing off not just their kites but also a newfound appreciation for the creative side of Senior School. The workshop brought out their artistic talents and opened their eyes to the fun and possibilities waiting for them as they move forward in their education. Well done, Year Six!
