Alumni Professional Networking Success
The RGS Foundation warmly welcomed RGS alumni to a Professional Networking event. Within the expansive network of over 6,000 former pupils scattered across the globe, engaged in diverse industries, the past year has seen a deliberate effort to enhance opportunities for alumni to connect with peers they might not have known during their time at RGS, but whose professional encounters could prove invaluable.
Building on the success of previous Law and Finance groups, the Alumni Professions Group embarked on its second chapter with a focus on alumni immersed in the realms of Media, Marketing, Broadcast, and PR. The event, hosted by Foundation Director Mr Scott MacDonald and Development & Alumni Relations Manager, Mrs Sophie Borillo-McLellan, unfolded in the vibrant backdrop just off Oxford Street, strategically positioned in proximity to the offices of many attending alumni.
Representatives spanned from the Class of 1983 to the Class of 2019, showcasing a spectrum of professional roles. From policy advising to copywriting, TV broadcasting to editing, and sales to technology, the diversity of job profiles were as impressive as the companies they represented—ITV, Amazon, Ofcom, to name a few.
Entrepreneurs, award winners, directors, and those embarking on the initial steps of their professional journey came together, creating an enriching mix that characterises the success of these gatherings—the chance to hear from individuals at different stages and sectors of their professional lives. The conversations among alumni flowed seamlessly from start to finish. The joy of meeting and connecting, not just on a professional level but also in reminiscing about RGS days.
Feedback from the evening echoed with positivity, as participants expressed their enjoyment and highlighted the tangible benefits they derived from the event. As the RGS Foundation looks ahead, there is anticipation for more such gatherings that contribute to the growth of the RGS alumni network.
