We are Finalists! National Recognition for RGSW Family of Schools
Best Use of Technology! Chamber Business Awards Finalist
The RGS Worcester Family of Schools were thrilled to receive a ‘Highly Commended’ at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber Business Awards event last week. Our four schools were shortlisted as finalists in the ‘Best Use of Technology’ category earlier in the year, celebrating the RGS Schools’ achievements in Remote Learning, the strength of IT infrastructure and the overall success of the RGS Digital Learning Programme, providing continuity of education for pupils. RGS won the Chamber Business Award for Technology and the Award for Careers provision in recent years and was the only school represented at the Awards ceremony.
Director of Innovation, John Jones said: “It is great to have the business community identify the importance of education in this way and we would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for giving RGS this recognition. This is a superb achievement for our remarkable Family of Schools. Well done to every single member of the RGS community for their contribution to keep learning alive during lockdowns.”
Independent Schools of the Year Finalist
The RGS Worcester Family of Schools are delighted to have been selected as a Finalist for the Independent Schools of the Year Awards, in the ‘Outstanding response to Covid-19’ category. The awards are run by Independent School Parent magazine and RGS joins other prestigious schools, to become one of only eight top Independent Schools in the Country, selected from over 700 nominations.
Headmaster, John Pitt, said “We are very pleased that all the hard work of our staff and the commitment of our pupils and parents has been recognised in this way. We have been developing the use of technology in education, when it makes a difference to learning, for some time now. As a consequence, we were able to switch straight to a full remote learning programme when it was needed during this pandemic. We have also been able to share and develop the use of technology with our partner schools in the state and independent sectors, so that everyone has benefited from our status as an Apple Distinguished School. To be selected as a national Finalist is very special.”
The Award winner will be announced next month and regardless of the outcome, this represents an excellent team effort.
