“谢谢 RGS, Sic infit!”: Oxbridge Trio Excited About Offers
We are delighted to announce that three RGS Worcester students have received offers from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in very different subjects. Martha Burdon, Arianne Eddy, and Catherine Broadbent follow a long line of successful RGS pupils by securing offers to pursue their chosen Degree courses.
Martha Burdon has received the offer of a place to read Asian & Middle Eastern Studies at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Catherine Broadbent has received an offer to read Theology, and Arianne Eddy has received an offer to read Classics both at Oxford.
The competition for places at both Universities is extremely intense, and the fact that all three students secured their places against a very competitive field of candidates is a testament to their high academic standards, dedication, and perseverance.
To prepare an application to Oxford or Cambridge, and complete the necessary steps – admissions test, submission of written work, interview – before a successful outcome, is an intense process. Therefore, we are incredibly proud of our students and their accomplishments.
Martha Burdon said, “I was so thrilled to receive my offer from Cambridge, and I’m so grateful for all the help I received from the RGS staff. I am really excited to make the most of the brilliant Chinese course and musical opportunities at Cambridge. 谢谢 RGS!”
Similarly, Arianne Eddy said, “I was delighted to receive an offer from Oxford to read Classics and I am immensely grateful for all the help and encouragement my teachers gave me. I am really looking forward to pursuing this fascinating subject further. Sic infit!”
Final comments come from Catherine Broadbent who said, “I could not be more excited to have received an offer from Oxford to study a subject I really love, and I am so grateful for my incredible teachers, especially in the RS department, who have supported me endlessly throughout the entire application process. I’m now looking forward to working hard to achieve the A Level grades I need!”
Many congratulations to Martha, Arianne, and Catherine and we wish them all the best for their future studies. Thanks must also go to Dr Thom Russell for all his hard work in coordinating the Oxbridge programme and to all the staff who helped out with preparation, including lots of practice interviews.
