RGS Worcester Equestrians Shine in National Competitions
Year Nine pupil Cleo
Whitbread was one of ten riders selected to represent Wales and West Midlands in the British Eventing Under 18 Championships at Chillington Hall earlier this month.
Cleo achieved a very strong Dressage score, followed by a clear Cross Country round within the time, and also competed in the Showjumping class. Her team achieved third place overall.
Aged only thirteen years, and in her first season of eventing with her pony, it was a great achievement for Cleo to be selected. Cleo will continue training with the Under 18 team and is looking forward to future competitions.
Year Ten pupil Hannah Darby was selected to compete with her horse, Ben, at The Ble
nheim Palace International Horse Trials – Team Eventer Challenge. Out of 180 entrants from across the United Kingdom, Hannah placed second in the 90cm individual event, riding smoothly and maintaining her focus throughout the round. Year Eleven pupil Emily Walsh was also at Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials and participated in the Eventer Challenge representing Ludlow Pony Club.
Cleo, Hannah and E
mily represent RGS Worcester in School Equestrian competitions. RGS are members of the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) and pupils with their own ponies can compete as part of a team or as an individual at various County, Regional and National competitions.
A letter has been distributed via the parent portal with further details about how to participate and represent RGS. Please do contact Mrs Bennett-Howells, our Equestrian Team Manager, for further information.
