Under 12 Hockey Players Celebrate National Finals Success
Eight girls from RGS Worcester and one from RGS The Grange represented Stourport Hockey Club at the Under 12 National Hockey Finals in London, following an outstanding season for both club and School Hockey.
Having progressed confidently through the Midlands qualifying rounds, the squad arrived at the National Finals ready to compete against some of the strongest teams in the country. They produced an excellent standard of Hockey throughout the group stages, recording impressive victories against Fylde Hockey Club, Surbiton Hockey Club and Cambridge City Hockey Club to secure their place in the Final.
In the National Final, the team faced pre-tournament favourites HC Knole Park from Tonbridge in what proved to be a highly competitive contest. Despite a spirited and determined performance, the side narrowly missed out on the national title, finishing as deserved runners-up after an excellent campaign.
This achievement reflects the players’ commitment, teamwork and talent throughout the season and marks a fantastic conclusion to a memorable year for both RGS Hockey and Stourport Hockey Club. The School is proud of all nine pupils for their performances and the way they represented both club and School across the competition.
