Thor’s Day Book Club Brings Ancient Worlds to Life
A new club at RGS has attracted several new members this term. Thor’s Day Book Club is a club that meets to find out more about the worlds of Norse, Celtic and Anglo Saxon history myth and legend. Members also enjoy reading the Fighting Fantasy role play adventure books, as well as works by authors such JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis and Ursula K Le Guin. The hope is that pupils will develop an academic interest in these areas and consider studying these subjects at a later stage. This week, the club’s founding members were awarded their Thor’s Day Club badges, featuring Norse runes and Thor’s hammer symbol. The club would be delighted to welcome new members from Years Seven to Nine and meets every Thursday (of course) in HL102 at 1.30pm.
