The Fellowship of the Arts Brings Creativity to Life
On Monday, pupils, staff and families gathered for The Fellowship of the Arts, this year’s Creative Arts Evening, celebrating creativity, performance and imagination across RGS Worcester. Inspired by the worlds of ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’, the event featured performances, exhibitions and showcases across the School site, highlighting the work of pupils across Drama, Music, Dance, English, Art, Design Technology, Textiles and Fashion.
Guests began their evening in ‘Hobbiton’, where refreshments and live music welcomed them before they followed a specially created route through a series of themed Creative Rings. Throughout the evening, pupils shared their talents through exhibitions, performances, storytelling and music, creating a vibrant celebration of the Creative Arts.
The Performance Ring provided a varied programme of live entertainment. Audiences enjoyed performances from pupil bands, an orchestral performance and a dramatic duologue from Blood Brothers, while the evening concluded with a finale inspired by The Greatest Showman. Music could also be heard throughout the site, helping to create a lively atmosphere as guests explored the different areas.
In the Rose Garden, the Story Ring offered a programme of poetry and prose readings inspired by Tolkien and the natural world. Visitors enjoyed a continuous series of performances, showcasing pupils’ confidence, creativity and love of storytelling.
The Maker’s Ring celebrated creativity through design and craftsmanship. Art, Design Technology, Engineering, Textiles and Fashion exhibitions of GCSE and A Level work displayed an impressive range of pupil work, allowing visitors to explore original ideas, technical skill and creative development across a variety of disciplines. A particular highlight of the evening was the Fashion Showcase, which drew together work from across the Year groups and demonstrated the breadth of talent within Textiles and Fashion.
The evening reflected the collaborative spirit at the heart of the Creative Arts, bringing together pupils and staff from across departments to create a shared celebration of performance, creativity and imagination. It also provided an opportunity for families and guests to experience the remarkable range of opportunities available to pupils across the Creative Arts at RGS Worcester.
Our thanks go to all pupils, teaching and support teams who contributed to the success of the evening and to the families and guests who joined us.
