Sporting Round Up Celebrates National and County Success
RGS Worcester pupils have achieved an impressive range of individual sporting successes, with recent achievements across Fencing, Athletics, Table Tennis and Badminton. From a national podium finish and County Athletics title to County representation and success in a first official Table Tennis England event, pupils have demonstrated skill, determination and commitment across a wide range of sports.
Fencing Bronze at British Youth Championships
Congratulations to Lower Sixth student, Issy, who achieved an outstanding Bronze medal in the Under 18 Women’s Épée at the British Youth Championships.
Competing at national level, Issy demonstrated excellent skill, focus and determination throughout the competition to secure a place on the podium. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects her continued commitment to Fencing.

County Athletics Success for Amélie
Congratulations to Year Eight pupil Amélie, who delivered an outstanding performance at the Worcester Athletics County Championships.
Competing in the Under 14 Girls’ category as a year-young athlete, Amélie secured the 800m County title with a new personal best of 2:27. She also achieved a Personal Best in the Javelin, finishing second with a throw of 21.7m, and placed fourth in the 100m.
This is a fantastic achievement across multiple events and reflects Amélie’s talent, determination and versatility. Well done, Amélie.

Table Tennis Success for Alex
Year Seven pupil Alex enjoyed an excellent first official Table Tennis England event, competing in the Under 13 category at Birmingham Table Tennis Academy, held at Nishkam School.
The tournament attracted competitors from across the UK and carried official Table Tennis England ranking points. Alex was placed in the lowest group as this was his first official event, competing against players already ranked by Table Tennis England from areas including Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire.
Alex produced an outstanding performance, winning all six of his matches to finish top of his group. This impressive result is expected to place him within the top 200 in the UK for his age group.
This is a superb achievement for Alex’s first official competition and we look forward to following his progress as he continues to compete in further ranking events.

County Badminton Experience for Molly and Jack
Lower Sixth students Molly and Jack represented Worcestershire County Badminton Under 19s in an InterCounty Tournament at Nottingham University during the Easter holidays.
Competing against strong County opposition, Molly and Jack gained valuable experience at a high level of competition, with Worcestershire finishing 20th out of 24 counties.
Their selection to represent the County is an excellent achievement and reflects their commitment to Badminton. Well done to both Molly and Jack.
