Royal Navy Cadets Develop Leadership Skills in Interactive Workshop
On Monday 12 October, RGS Worcester welcomed the Royal Navy Engagement Team for an interactive workshop with the School’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Royal Navy Section, focusing on leadership, teamwork, communication and critical thinking.
Throughout the session, Cadets took part in a series of practical challenges designed to develop their confidence, creativity and ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
A particular highlight was a Dragons’ Den-style challenge, which tasked Cadets with inventing and pitching a useful machine for the Royal Navy. Working in teams, they developed their ideas before presenting their inventions to the group, confidently explaining their concepts and responding to questions. The activity provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate teamwork, problem-solving and public speaking skills.
Cadets also had the opportunity to meet two Royal Navy pilots, who shared insights into their careers, recruitment and life in the Navy. The discussions prompted thoughtful questions from Cadets about the experiences of serving personnel and the different career pathways available within the Royal Navy.
Our thanks go to the Royal Navy Engagement Team and the visiting pilots for delivering such an engaging and informative experience, and well done to all Cadets for their enthusiasm and participation throughout the session.
