Primary Pupils Explore Languages at RGS Worcester
RGS Worcester welcomed more than 100 pupils from local primary schools on Friday for a Modern Foreign Languages Partnerships Day, offering a morning of language learning and cultural activities as part of the School’s Outreach and Partnerships Programme.
Pupils from Claines Primary School, Broadwas C of E Primary School, Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School and St George’s Catholic Primary School visited the Senior School to take part in a series of interactive sessions introducing them to French, Spanish and German.
Supported by a team of RGS Languages Ambassadors, pupils rotated through a programme of short lessons and language-based activities. Classrooms hosted introductory language sessions on topics such as pets, family and rooms in the house, while activity rooms offered interactive games designed to reinforce vocabulary and build confidence in speaking and listening.
Each session lasted twenty minutes, allowing pupils to experience multiple languages throughout the morning. RGS pupils helped guide visitors between sessions and supported activities alongside Modern Foreign Languages staff.
Following a refreshment break in Cobham Hall, pupils continued their activities before the morning concluded with a celebratory gathering where certificates and small gifts were presented to recognise their participation.
The event offered visiting pupils the opportunity to experience language learning at RGS Worcester, while also allowing RGS language ambassadors to develop leadership skills as they supported the younger pupils throughout the morning.
