Five Selected for ISFA Midlands Under 13 Football Team
Five RGS Worcester pupils have been selected to represent the Boys’ ISFA Midlands Under 13 representative team following regional trials held in November.
This year, Teacher of PE and Assistant Head of Year, Mr Fleming, has taken on the role of Assistant Coach for the Midlands side. Seven RGS pupils were put forward for the trials and performed strongly during the selection process.
Following the trials, five pupils were selected for the Midlands team: Jasper Jones (Year Eight), Joshua Livesey (Year Eight), Hugo Ash (Year Eight), Harrison Scott (Year Eight) and Emlyn Jones (Year Seven).
The full list of RGS Worcester pupils nominated for the trials included Jasper Jones (Year Eight), Joshua Livesey (Year Eight), Hugo Ash (Year Eight), Harrison Scott (Year Eight), Henry Chase (Year Eight), Emlyn Jones (Year Seven) and Leo Barratt (Year Seven).
On Sunday 8 March, three of the selected pupils, Emlyn Jones, Joshua Livesey and Hugo Ash, represented the Midlands team in a friendly fixture against the Welsh Premier League side The New Saints Under 13 Academy. The match provided an opportunity for players to come together as a squad and prepare for the ISFA Regional Festival taking place this Easter.
The Regional Festival will see teams from across the country compete against one another and also serves as an opportunity for players to be identified for national ISFA representation in the following year.
Congratulations to all the pupils involved in the selection process.
