Investing in the Future of RGS Worcester

RGS Worcester has continued to invest in its facilities throughout the year and over the summer holidays, with two major projects completed alongside the School’s extensive programme of maintenance, refurbishment and improvement works.

The entrance to Perrins Hall has been transformed with new stone steps, an accessible walkway and glass doors enclosing the arched entrance to the Hall. The development improves accessibility and heat retention while creating an impressive new entrance to one of the School’s most historic and important buildings. We are extremely grateful to former pupil Ian Carmichael and his wife Maggie, whose generous support made the project possible.

Another significant development has been the opening of the Mahjoor Innovation Centre in the Pullinger Building. Made possible through the generosity of former pupil Fasha Mahjoor, the Centre includes a ‘classroom of the future’ designed to encourage collaboration, creativity and problem-solving. With adaptable furniture, integrated technology and flexible learning spaces, it will be used for lessons, project work, presentations, Educational Partnerships and special events, while also providing a Staff Common Room outside lesson time.

These major projects form part of a much wider programme of investment across the School. Recent improvements have included the refurbishment of the Lecture Theatre and Eld Hall, improvements to the Sixth Form Centre and Whiteladies foyer and further work at the Flagge Meadow Pavilion. Throughout the summer holidays, the Estates and Grounds teams have also been busy with the extensive programme of painting, maintenance and preparation that takes place each year to ensure classrooms, shared spaces and grounds are ready to welcome pupils back in September.

Together, these developments continue to enhance the environment in which pupils learn, perform, compete and spend their School day, while carefully maintaining the historic buildings and character of RGS Worcester.
