Appointment of Our Senior Prefects
Congratulations to Izzy Fawcett and George McMillan who have been appointed School Captains for the academic year 2025-26. Our School Captains, Deputy School Captains, Senior Prefects, House Captains and Prefects are intrinsic to the operation of RGS, delivering speeches, performing School duties, providing tours for visitors, as well as assisting staff and younger pupils. This provides effective additional support for pupils and an early interaction with older students in the School, especially working with our Pastoral Prefects.
School Captain Izzy Fawcett commented: “I am proud and delighted to have been appointed School Captain for the year ahead. It will be exciting to work alongside the other Captains and staff to help continue to build the fantastic and welcoming community of RGS. I look forward to promoting and encouraging others to make the most of the breadth of amazing opportunities that I have benefited from over the past six years.”
School Captain George McMillan commented: “If somebody two years ago had told me that I was going to be School Captain at RGS Worcester in my final year, I would never have believed them. With that being said, I am unbelievably proud and honoured to have been given this prestigious role. For the coming academic year, I wish to pass on as much experience as possible to other pupils. I aim to work alongside the teachers, fellow Captains and the entire student body to positively impact the School and represent the truly amazing place it is. I am incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to represent RGS, and hope I can continue the excellent performances of previous School Captains.”
Deputy School Captain Fynn Butler commented: “Being appointed Deputy School Captain is something I am really proud of, especially as it has been a dream of mine since joining the School in Year Two. I hope to inspire younger pupils to make the most of every opportunity and to show them how much they can achieve here. To me, this role is about leading with kindness, encouraging others, and helping to strengthen the sense of community that makes our School such a special place to be.”
Deputy School Captain Kez Colthurst commented: “I am incredibly honoured to be appointed as a Deputy School Captain here at RGS, especially as I only joined the School last year. In such a short time, RGS has made a huge impact on me, and it’s a privilege to have the chance to give something back to the community that has already given me so much. I am really looking forward to working alongside my fellow Captains, Deputy Captains and the wider team of Prefects as we represent the School together. I am excited for all that the upcoming year entails and I look forward to playing my part in upholding the values of RGS and supporting both staff and pupils in the year to come.”
Deputy School Captain Kieran Lilley commented: “Having been part of the RGS community for nearly 14 years, I am deeply honoured to be appointed Deputy School Captain. Throughout my time here, I have been inspired by previous School Captains whose wisdom, kindness and thoughtful gestures helped to make the school feel like a true family. It is my hope to follow in their footsteps by leaving a similarly positive and lasting impression on those who come after me.”
Deputy School Captain Harry Muir commented: “I feel very grateful to have the privilege of being chosen as Deputy School Captain, since I only joined RGS last September. I am excited to continue to contribute to the school community, support other pupils across year groups, and represent the values that make this school environment so special. I am motivated to help make this a truly successful year for both pupils and staff alike.”
Many congratulations to all on their appointments!
