Cross-Country Runners Go the Distance – to the National Championships!
Last week, seven pupils from RGS Worcester competed in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Cross-Country Championships. Although the event had been postponed earlier in the term due to adverse weather, conditions remained challenging on the Bromsgrove course, where pupils tackled distances ranging from 3.3km to 6km.
Competing against strong County opposition, pupils delivered determined performances across the age groups. The standout results came in the Intermediate Girls’ race, where Lexi Agoston (Year Eleven) secured an impressive second place finish and Evie Kilby (Year Ten) placed seventh. In the Senior Boys’ race, Jack Price (Upper Sixth) also ran strongly to claim 11th place.
Lexi and Evie have both qualified to represent Herefordshire and Worcestershire at the National Cross-Country Championships next month and we wish them every success. All pupils are to be commended for their efforts in what were demanding conditions.
