RGS Careers: A spotlight on the Legal Profession
Last week, we welcomed local Barrister, Mr James Jarvis to present at our latest Careers Seminar at RGS Worcester.
Our series of lunchtime Careers Seminars are open to pupils from all Year groups and aim to inform pupils about the variety of career options available to them, and provide the chance to meet professionals and hear first-hand about their careers.
Mr Jarvis is Head of Chambers at the Worcester based Law Firm, Silver Fox Chambers who specialise in many areas of law including property, employment and several strands of commercial law.
In his presentation, Mr Jarvis gave us an overview and also insight into working in the legal profession, explaining the different clothing worn in Court by Barristers and Solicitors which two pupils demonstrated. He provided further detail into his role as a Barrister and what this job can involve as well explaining the skills required. The pupils listened avidly to Mr Jarvis, asking informed questions at the end of the session. Thank you to Mr Jarvis for kindly giving us his time to tell our pupils all about careers in the legal profession.
This legal profession is just one of the many we have highlighted in the sessions and we aim to cover a broad spectrum of career options. If you are interested in sharing your own professional journey and knowledge and inspire pupils with possible career choices, please do get in touch. (apw@rgsw.org.uk)
