RGS Worcester Family of Schools delighted with ‘Exceptional’ ISI Inspection Report
Following a four-day inspection in March, we are delighted to share the findings of the ISI Inspection Report, in which inspectors conclude that the Schools’ achieve the highest grading of ‘Excellent’ in all areas.
The Report covers the Inspection of three of the RGS Worcester Schools: RGS Worcester, RGS Springfield and RGS The Grange (RGS Dodderhill is inspected under a different cycle). The full Report is available to view on our website here.
The first section of the Report is on Compliance and the three Schools are found to be fully compliant in all aspects of their provision. The second section (from page 8 onwards) is the Education Quality Report which has four possible grades. We are delighted with the Report and that each area of our schools assessed was judged to be ‘Excellent, which is the highest grade.
The Key Findings we are particularly pleased that the Inspectors recognised, are the pupils’ high levels of achievement and personal development, the “self-awareness, self-assurance” and also the “self-effacing” nature of our pupils. We talk about RGS pupils having a ‘quiet confidence but not arrogance’ and we think parents and staff should be especially proud that the Inspectors identified these character traits in RGS pupils.
Our Digital Learning Programme (DLP) also shone throughout the Report, bringing to the forefront how investment into the programme improved the teaching and learning experience for pupils. The report stated that EYFS upwards showed an “exceptional confidence in use of software” as well as Mathematics being “one of many areas in which pupils’ progress is accelerated” and the use of “voice notes” providing direct personal feedback to aid pupils’ development.
The Report further outlined that in discussion “pupils volunteered the strong ‘community feel’ as a characteristic of the family of schools”, with pupils also taking “an active role in Worcester life” and showing the schools’ success with the “aim to develop a pride in, and loyalty to, the community.”
Executive Head of the RGS Worcester Family of Schools, John Pitt, said: “This Inspection report proves the high-quality education provided at RGS Worcester. It gives us the confidence to build upon this success and ensure that we provide the very best opportunities for our pupils to make their experience at RGS enjoyable, stimulating, challenging and successful.
Despite these last challenging few years for everyone, I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved. The pupils deserve every praise for their continued progress and success, highlighted continuously throughout this exceptional report and demonstrating what a fantastic family of schools we have. Thank you also to parents for their continued support evident in their responses to the Inspection Questionnaires.
The report is testament to the outstanding work of the staff going above and beyond to provide an excellent all-round education. I would like to thank the team at all of our Schools for their continued dedication, passion, loyalty and drive to nurture, challenge and support every child throughout their educational journey at RGS Worcester and into their development into adulthood.”
