European Championships Mark Equestrian Milestone

Lower Sixth student Cleo represented Great Britain at the Pony European Championships in Le Mans, France, over the summer for the second consecutive year, helping the team secure an impressive fifth-place finish alongside her pony, Night Fury.

The GB squad faced a challenging Championship, with several ponies affected by health issues and one combination forced to withdraw following the Dressage phase. Despite the setbacks, Cleo and the remaining four riders responded superbly, each producing confident, faultless Cross Country rounds over a demanding course. Their performances saw Great Britain climb the leaderboard and finish fifth overall.

The Championships marked another significant achievement for Cleo and Night Fury, who have represented Great Britain at two consecutive European Championships despite having been partnered for less than two years. Their consistent performances at international level reflect the strength of a partnership that has developed remarkably quickly.

Le Mans also marked the final competition for Cleo and Night Fury together at this level, with Night Fury now beginning a well-earned retirement from competition.

Cleo is already looking ahead to the next chapter of her Equestrian career and will now aim for selection to the Junior GB Squad with her horse, Mary.
