Enhancing One of RGS Worcester’s Most Familiar Spaces

Development works to the entrance of Perrins Hall were completed last week, marking the conclusion of an important improvement project to one of the School’s most familiar and well-used spaces.

The project has enhanced the front entrance to Perrins Hall, with a new stone frontage and glass doors creating a more welcoming entrance, while also supporting accessibility and improved heat retention. The works have been carefully designed to remain sensitive to the historic character of the listed building. Perrins Hall has continued to play a central role in School life throughout the development period, with assemblies, events and performances taking place as usual.

Perrins Hall holds a special place in the memories of generations of pupils, staff, families and Old Elizabethans. From assemblies, concerts and celebrations to major School occasions and everyday moments, it remains a space where much of RGS life comes together. The completed works provide a thoughtful refresh to the entrance, helping to ensure that Perrins Hall continues to serve the School community well for many years to come.

The project has been made possible through the generous support of Ian Carmichael (OE), and Maggie Carmichael, to whom the School is extremely grateful. Their support reflects the important role that philanthropy continues to play in enhancing the School environment and preserving spaces that mean so much to the wider RGS Worcester community.

The School looks forward to welcoming Ian and Maggie Carmichael to see the completed works and unveil a plaque when they are next able to visit. Perrins Hall will continue to be enjoyed as an important part of School life at RGS Worcester.
