Donated iPads arrive in Ghana
We were very pleased to hear from our partner school, Tongo Senior High School in Ghana this week, and receive these wonderful photographs showing pupils using iPads donated by The RGS Worcester Family of Schools.
The 20 iPad 4s were donated to the Ghanian school to help develop digital skills and enhance connectivity for the community. This is part of an ongoing relationship between the two Schools developed over recent years, with RGS having previously sent reconditioned technology for pupils and teachers to use. We were delighted to receive word from Headmaster, Apana Thomas Akolgo that the donations were really helping with the teaching and learning of ICT in the School.
Pupils at RGS The Grange have also enjoyed talking to pupils at Tongo Senior High School in Ghana, via video conference this week. This is a fantastic experience for all and an opportunity to share and learn about each other. Year Six pupils at RGS The Grange prepared a number of thoughtful questions to ask their Ghanian peers including what language they spoke at home, what native animals lived nearby and the roles and responsibilities of being a Chief!
Pupils from both nations also shared their concerns about the changing climate and discussed ways in which they could all help, making small changes that could make a big difference for our planet.
It is a privilege to be involved in this positive project and nurture the ongoing relationship between the RGS Schools and Tongo Senior High School. We all look forward to seeing how this partnership develops.
