RGS Community Invited to Support Worcester Foodbank
The RGS Worcester community is invited to support a Worcester Foodbank appeal this half term, led by Pastoral Secretary, Mrs Margaret Sturdy, to help provide much-needed donations ahead of the summer holidays.
Worcester Foodbank provides emergency food and practical support to local people during some of their most difficult moments. Those using the Foodbank must be referred, helping to ensure that support reaches individuals and families facing genuine crisis in the local community.
Families are warmly encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, provided they are within their best-before date. Suggested items currently listed by Worcester Foodbank include cereal, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, tinned fish, tinned fruit, long-life milk, long-life juice, instant coffee, snacks, shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and sanitary towels.
Cash donations are also very welcome. These will be used to purchase supermarket vouchers, enabling the Foodbank to buy specific items that are most needed at the time.
Mrs Sturdy said: “If everyone donated just one item, or even £1 for me to buy something on behalf of the Foodbank, imagine the difference that would make to struggling families in Worcester.”
Donations can be brought to Reception or to Mrs Sturdy’s office in Whiteladies. Thank you in advance to all pupils, parents, guardians and staff who are able to support this important local appeal. Every contribution, however small, will make a difference to the Worcester community this summer.
