Show Jumping and Cross Country Success for Year Nine Pupil
Year Nine pupil Georgie Timmis represented RGS Worcester at Swalcliffe Park on Saturday, competing in the Horse Events School Equestrian Games One Day Event on her horse, Strike a Pose, in the 90cm class.
The competition began with Dressage, where Georgie and Strike a Pose scored 32.0 after what Georgie described as a rather unenthusiastic performance from her horse. The pair then progressed to the Show Jumping phase, delivering a clear round before moving on to Cross Country, their favourite part of the event, where they once again produced a faultless performance.
Having previously received time penalties for going too quickly on Cross Country courses, Georgie and Strike a Pose showed excellent improvement in pace judgement, finishing just three seconds faster than the optimum time.
Their performances across all three phases secured an excellent second-place finish overall, just 0.2 points behind the winner and 4.3 points ahead of third place.
Congratulations to Georgie on this excellent achievement!
