Lest We Forget
The School’s annual Remembrance Service took place on Tuesday 11 November, providing a moment of reflection for the entire RGS Worcester community. Pupils and staff gathered in Perrins Hall and across the School to honour the men and women who gave their lives during the two World Wars and in conflicts since.
Led by the Headmaster, the Service included a moving performance from the RGS Chamber Choir and a Guard of Honour from the School’s Combined Cadet Force. A commemorative Remembrance film was shared across the School, offering a poignant reminder of the service and sacrifice of those who fought for their country. At the First and Second World War memorials in Perrins Hall, the School Captains laid wreaths in memory of the eighty-three RGS Worcester Alumni who died serving their country in the line of duty.
Remembrance holds an important place in the life of the School. Each year, this Act of Remembrance gives pupils and staff the opportunity to pause, reflect and express gratitude for the courage and dedication of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth. It was also an important moment to consider those affected by more recent and ongoing conflicts, and to hope for peace across the world.
Lest we forget.
