A ‘Spotacular’ Day of Fundraising
Pupils from across The RGS Worcester Family of Schools enjoyed a ‘Spotacular’ day of fundraising in support of BBC Children in Need today. At RGS Worcester, pupils took part in a non-uniform day, each donating £2, while pupils at RGS The Grange and RGS Dodderhill also joined in the fundraising spirit by dressing up for the occasion.
At lunchtime, pupils were invited to take on a series of timed challenges. In just 25 seconds, participants attempted to score as many basketball hoops as possible, name as many countries’ flags as they could, throw beanbags into a hoop, or balance on a balance ball for as long as possible. Winners were awarded certificates and small prizes for their efforts.
In 2024, RGS Worcester raised £2,842.20 for the charity. Since 1980, Children in Need has raised more than £1 billion to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The charity currently supports over 2,300 local organisations working with those facing challenges such as poverty, illness, disability, neglect, trauma or distress.
Thank you to all pupils, parents and staff who contributed so generously to this year’s fundraising. We look forward to sharing the final total raised for BBC Children in Need next week.
