Take One Picture – RGS Pupils Exhibit in The National Gallery Exhibition
We were very excited to learn that artwork created by some of our Year Seven Pupils, whilst they were in Year Five at RGS The Grange, has finally been included in an Exhibition at The National Gallery in London. The work was inspired by a beautiful painting from the Gallery collection by George Bellows, called ‘Men of the Docks’. The artwork was submitted to The National Gallery as part of its annual ‘Take One Picture’ programme for schools. The pupils each created a model boat from balsa wood and printed a skyscraper building, which was used to build up city skylines on four large collaborative canvases. A number of the boats and one of the canvases have been chosen for the Exhibition. You can find out more about the Take One Picture exhibition on The National Gallery website. Although it is hard to see exactly which model boats have been chosen for the Exhibition, perhaps the pupils will recognise their own work!
