Supporting our community: Pupils volunteer at Worcester Street Kitchen
RGS Sixth Form students have been volunteering at the Worcester Street Kitchen – a small community group who provide hot food and drinks to those in need in Worcester. As well as offering their time to Worcester Street Kitchen, the students have also initiated support from the RGS community, calling for donations of toiletries and socks.
Kim-Ly and Felicity explain further about their voluntary work: “We came across the opportunity to help out in our Medics Enrichment class. Worcester Street Kitchen is a very local organisation, and after we saw the incredible work they had done, especially in reducing the number of homeless during Covid-19, we decided to volunteer.”
Val from Worcester Street Kitchen said: “Thank you to our trainee volunteers from the Sixth Form at The Royal Grammar School Worcester. Kim-Ly and Felicity collected toiletries for our visitors to The Street Kitchen Sunday and Nuh is going to start another collection soon. We are happy to have the support of these youngsters and their parents. Thank you to the School for giving myself and Heather such a warm welcome and your support.”
