Year Nine Pupil Celebrates World Championship Victory
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding international success of Year Nine pupil Jorgie Ardis, who recently represented Team UK at the Xpirit World Cup in Cancun, Mexico.
Following a highly competitive audition process, Jorgie was selected to perform with the Phoenix Company, previously known as Phoenix Boys, who rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent in 2024. She was chosen for her group performances, duet and a solo, an exceptional achievement that reflects both her technical ability and performance quality. Jorgie travelled and trained with the company for the prestigious international competition, gaining valuable experience of rehearsals, performances and professional dance environments.
The competition proved to be a remarkable success. The group dances in which Jorgie performed placed first and second overall, with one routine being crowned both World Champions and Grand Champions of Jazz. These results represent an extraordinary accomplishment on a global stage, competing against leading dancers and teams from around the world.
Reflecting on the experience, Jorgie said: “I felt very honoured to be part of Team UK following my successful audition. It was a fantastic experience to dance with others from around the UK and compete against other countries, making friends and memories. I’m thrilled that the groups I danced in came first and second, with one of the group dances being crowned World Champions and also the Grand Champions of Jazz.”
Alongside her commitment to dance, Jorgie continues to demonstrate exemplary dedication to her education, maintaining excellent attendance and balancing her academic responsibilities with her demanding training schedule. We congratulate Jorgie on this exceptional achievement and look forward to following her continued success as she pursues her ambitions in dance.
