Virtual Sports Week at home
RGS Worcester pupils are set to take part in a week of virtual sporting challenges organised by the Youth Sport Trust and supported by Sky Sports. With young athletes missing out on their main school Sports Day this summer, the Youth Sport Trust is taking its annual National School Sport Week campaign beyond the school gates to parents and families – reinvented as National School Sport Week at Home.
In previous years National School Sport Week has seen thousands of schools join in a week-long celebration of school sport and Physical Education and the important role they play in enhancing young people’s wellbeing.
RGS Worcester will be taking part in the virtual event from Monday 22 to Friday 26 June and incorporating it within the inter-House competition. With remote learning and social distancing in place, pupils will be participating from home as they tackle a range of daily virtual sports challenges throughout the week. Each challenge will be released through the School’s House System Showbie Folder and competitors will enter their results and evidence into a shared google form. We look forward to seeing pupils get involved, get active in their House colour tops and represent their Houses!
